On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, Heidelberg Materials had the distinct honor of hosting U.S. Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (R-IA-02) and her team at our cement plant in Mason City, Iowa.
A key highlight of the visit was the opportunity to showcase our alternative fuel system for Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF). This innovative system is a cornerstone of our commitment to sustainability and innovation in cement manufacturing. Congresswoman Hinson gained a firsthand perspective on our operations and met the dedicated team that operates and maintains the facility.
Representative Hinson has been a strong advocate for investment and job creation in Iowa. Her efforts to bolster the manufacturing sector and expand workforce development across the state have been instrumental in driving growth and opportunity.
“It was inspiring to see Heidelberg Materials’ innovative, global business operate in Mason City and better understand the impact it has on not only Iowa’s economic prosperity, but the broader Midwest region,” shared Congresswoman Hinson. “I enjoyed taking the opportunity to visit with the team and learn more about the day-to-day operations and talented workforce. Iowa is on the front lines of producing vital materials, resources, and critical components for the construction industry. I am so impressed with the continued investment in critical infrastructure at the Mason City plant and the hardworking team at Heidelberg Materials.”
We sincerely thank Congresswoman Hinson for her time, interest, and continued support of Iowa’s manufacturing industry. Her visit underscores the importance of collaboration between industry and government in fostering a sustainable and innovative future.
We look forward to continuing our work in innovation and sustainability, and we are grateful for the ongoing support from leaders like Congresswoman Hinson.
