Heidelberg Materials Welcomes U.S. Congressman Jefferson Shreve to Mitchell Cement Plant

Mitchell Plant Shreve Visit

On Friday August 22, 2025, Heidelberg Materials welcomed U.S. Congressman Jefferson Shreve (R-IN-06) and his staff to our state-of-the-art cement plant in Mitchell, Indiana.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the innovative technologies and sustainable practices driving our operations, focusing on the recently upgraded Mitchell facility — the newest, and among the most advanced and energy-efficient cement plants in North America.

Congressman Shreve spent valuable time with our team members, gaining firsthand insight into the daily plant operations as well as its contributions to Indiana’s economy and infrastructure. In particular, the plant team discussed the innovative approach we are taking to transform how our products are manufactured and used in the marketplace, with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, productivity and carbon reduction.

Congressman Shreve has been a steadfast supporter of economic development, workforce investment, and infrastructure advancement in Indiana. His leadership continues to help create an environment where manufacturers like Heidelberg Materials can thrive, innovate, and provide high-quality jobs for Hoosiers.

“Facilities like Heidelberg Materials’ Mitchell cement plant are at the heart of Indiana’s manufacturing strength,” said Congressman Shreve. “It’s inspiring to see the dedication and innovation of the team here, and the role they play in building a stronger, more sustainable future for our state and nation.”

“We appreciate Congressman Shreve taking the time to visit our Mitchell plant and thank him for his continued advocacy for Indiana’s manufacturing sector,” said Paul Marsh, Director of Government Affairs for Heidelberg Material North America. “Visits from our elected officials emphasize the critical connection between industry and government in driving innovation, job creation and ultimately building a more sustainable future for all of us.”
