At the 2025 IRMCA Short Course, the Carl D. Franks Award – Cement Producer, was presented to John Vaughan of Heidelberg Materials. This prestigious honor recognizes outstanding contributions and marketing efforts within the cement and concrete industry, continuing the legacy of Carl D. Franks, an Indiana native who dedicated his career to promoting concrete.
John has dedicated decades to leadership in technical services, with notable roles at Lehigh Cement, Essroc and Irving Materials, Inc. As a Technical Services Engineer at Heidelberg Materials, John's expertise and dedication have driven innovation and excellence in concrete technology, influencing the industry in Indiana and all our North American operations.
Known for his “contagious calm demeanor”, John has been a mentor to many over the years. He is there to listen, offer a solution or brainstorm a new idea.
