The Exceptional Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was established in 1993 to serve mentally and physically challenged individuals in the Greater Birmingham, Alabama area by targeting social and recreational objectives not met by educational institutions or the community at large.
The Chili Cook-Off is The Exceptional Foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from this event are a significant source of funding for the foundation’s programs designed to meet the social and recreational needs of individuals of all ages that are mentally challenged.
Sherman Industries regularly participates in the annual event and even has an Exceptional Foundation themed concrete mixer truck that acts as a mobile billboard to assist with the foundation’s awareness and fundraising.
Contributing to the community is a core value at Sherman Industries, LLC and the company partners with many local charitable organizations to provide support to their valuable causes.
