Lehigh Cement Sponsors SkillsUSA’s National Leadership and Skills Conference Masonry Competition

Skills USA
This week, our Brixment brand will be a sponsor at SkillUSA’s National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC) Masonry Competition in Louisville, Kentucky. The conference consists of several competitions throughout the week, but the masonry competition takes place on Wednesday and Thursday (June 27-28).

For the first day of the competition, the contestants will be given a written exam about the industry, building requirements and specifications. Once the exam is completed, the contestants will receive a tour of Lehigh’s Speed Cement Plant in Indiana. The second day of the competition consists of the masonry building competition and the awards ceremony.

Thanks to our Gregory Ferree, who is on the Technical Board for the competition, for engaging Lehigh Cement with the sponsorship and event. We will be posting on our social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) throughout the week providing more information, live updates and photos from the masonry competition.

Each year at NLSC, SkillsUSA has options for middle school students through college students to compete for championships in over 100 different trade, tech and leadership skills. The contests are free and open to the public. #NLSC2018
