Find a Concrete Cure Truck Make a Big Impact

Group Web

At Lehigh Hanson, we are more than just our products. We strive to be a good neighbor to the communities where we live and work. Throughout our ready mixed concrete operations, we partner with various charitable organizations to promote their causes on the drums of our concrete mixer trucks.

Recently, our Sherman Industries, LLC ’s Concrete Cure “truck for a cause” caught the attention of Wesley, a very special 6-year old boy. Wesley and his mom were in traffic on I-20 traveling to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham for his chemotherapy appointment. Like many young boys, Wesley loves heavy equipment and big trucks. When he spotted the concrete mixer with cancer awareness ribbons he pointed out the gold ribbon specifically as his “never ever give up sign!” Seeing the truck brightened his day and his mom reached out to tell us of the impact.

After hearing about Wesley, our employees at Sherman Industries organized a safe meet and greet for him and his family to get a firsthand look at the truck. Employees presented him with a Sherman Industries backpack full of gear and a one of kind “Sherman Never Ever Give Up” t-shirt.

“It was an extremely uplifting morning meeting Wesley and his family,” said Steve LeMay, Sales Manager for Sherman Industries. “We were very proud to provide this opportunity and we find Wesley's fight against cancer very motivating and inspiring.”
