Lehigh Cement plant in Mitchell, Indiana, Hosts Tour for MSHA

MSHA-tour-3

At Lehigh Hanson, workplace safety and health is a top priority. The agency that regulates safety in the mining industry is called the Mining Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). As part of its “One MSHA” initiative, the agency recently combined coal and metal/non-metal oversight and inspection and established a new District Office in Vincennes, Indiana.  In an effort to share perspectives and become acquainted with the new office administration and inspector group, the Lehigh Cement plant in Mitchell, Indiana, hosted members from this local District Office last month with a tour of the manufacturing plant and lab.

The tour was an opportunity to discuss our cement manufacturing and mining operations from a regulatory perspective. Working collaboratively with MSHA is important to keep our people safe and help us continue to be a safety leader in the industry.
