Lalit “LB” Bhatnagar Receives NSSGA’s 2021 Environmental Leadership Award

The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) announced the recipient of the 2021 Environmental Leadership Award as Lalit "LB" Bhatnagar, director of environment, land and resource development, South Region at Lehigh Hanson, Inc. The award was presented during the first morning of NSSGA’s Legislative & Policy Forum in Washington, D.C.

LB serves as the chair of the Water Subcommittee with the NSSGA Environmental Subcommittee, where he has led efforts for the industry on areas related to the Waters of the U.S. regulation repeal and rewrite, along with a variety of other critical water-related issues for the industry. His hands-on involvement in policymaking as well as rulemaking have provided critical member engagement and technical knowledge when needed most.

“As LB has been engaged at both the advocacy and regulatory side, his constant work demonstrates his expertise and leadership on these issues,” said NSSGA President and CEO Michael Johnson. “I am thrilled to honor him with this award, as his dedication over his 26-year career have greatly benefited not just his peers but the entire industry.”

For the past 13 years, LB has represented Lehigh Hanson in the environmental sector by participating on environmentally focused steering committees, leading task groups and coordinating efforts to assist with achieving the company's aggressive 2030 Sustainability Commitments.
