IMPORTANT NOTICE
Beginning in January 2023, Lehigh Hanson and the majority of our affiliated North American brands will be transitioning to unify under one brand: Heidelberg Materials. Lehigh Materials is now in the process of rebranding.
As we transition to Heidelberg Materials, our focus continues to be on what we do best—heavy building materials—and delivering a premier customer experience. By joining forces across North America, we will be stronger than ever—driving change and transforming our industry.
Lehigh Materials
AGGREGATES FOR THE LOWER MAINLAND AND BEYOND
Lehigh Materials operates three sand and gravel mines in Sechelt, Coquitlam and Chilliwack. In addition, we operate three quarries in Brittania Beach, Coquitlam and on Jervis Inlet. Lehigh Materials produces aggregates for use in ready-mix concrete, precast concrete production, road and building construction, landscaping, and a variety of specialty aggregates applications. We also make riprap for shorelines and slope stabilization projects.
Lehigh Materials is the largest operator of conveyor barges in the area. Through our Marine Services division which delivers and offloads aggregates using barges and conveyor systems we have the ability to offload aggregates to shore without the need for dock access.
Depot Network Offers Convenient Service
In addition to aggregate mines, Lehigh Materials has strategically located sales depots in the Vancouver, Fraser Valley, and Victoria areas. Lehigh Materials sales depots and mines stock a full range of concrete, construction, landscaping and specialty products. The depots and their areas of coverage are as follows:
- Chilliwack Mine and Depot, located beside the Fraser River
- Delta Depot, covering the Delta, Surrey, South Surrey and Richmond areas
- Langley Depot, covering the Langley, Maple Ridge and Surrey areas
- North Vancouver Depot, covering the Burnaby and Central Vancouver areas
- Marpole Depot, covering the Vancouver, Burnaby and Richmond areas
- Surrey Depot, covering the Surrey and Delta areas
Victoria Materials Recycling and Depot
Lehigh Materials also helps keep waste construction materials out of municipal landfills. The Victoria Materials Depot (VMD) is a distribution center for our sand and gravel and crushed stone, as well as a major aggregate recycling and processing plant. VMD is on Vancouver Island, BC. The depot recycles concrete, ceramics, rock, asphalt, glass and construction waste. VMD is also involved in processing glass, hydro insulators and concrete poles. All these materials go through various stages of processing to be turned into road construction materials.
